He wants to give us good and perfect gifts that last!

He longs for us to know HIS joy so that our joy will be full.

Deceitful lusts promise "happiness" but their shallow sweetness quickly evaporates into empty bitterness. Through partaking of the "divine nature" we experience "loving life and seeing good days."

We discover "it is MORE BLESSED to give than to receive." We also taste the kindness of THE Lord and experience THE DELIGHT of doing His will.

The deceitfulness of sin draws us away and entices us to run after VANITIES. Vanities have a surface value but will always result in the same end Solomon discovered - meaningless. Why not "be led into ALL TRUTH" - and experience ALL TRUE LOVE, JOY, and PEACE.

Deceitful lusts feel good in the beginning but end in corruption, bondage, and death. Jesus came "that we might have ABUNDANT LIFE "- through His TRUE PASSIONS. The devil comes to "steal, kill, and destroy" through "deceitful lusts" that corrupt us by leading us away from "every GOOD and PERFECT gift that comes from the Father of light" in whom there is NO DARKNESS. Don't be robbed by deceitful lusts - Flee them!   ~anonymous

So true!

I read this and really thought it was good so I wanted to share it. The awesome thing about it is that the good news Jesus came to proclaim is that he came to set the captives free. He won the victory! We don't need to be captive any more to our Adam nature but we can put on Christ! Praise God!!! His promises are so sweet to us! "Father" I pray, help us!

Is it any wonder that many of us take one step forward and two steps back? Attempting to please the Lord and provide an occasional "snack" for the flesh might be the reason for the struggle we have with a double mind the instability of our walk.

If we are confused and our life is up and down, maybe it is worth our time to evaluate our "sowing" habits.

Is it possible we're missing the connection between the little "snacks" we sow to the flesh and the difficulties that sprout from those indulgences? When we provide a snack of sensuality, do we recognize the correlation with the battle we will face as a result? Snacks for the flesh strengthen the old man we face as an enemy! We might make it harder on ourselves. ~anonymous

lessons of life

So, today I go to work wondering what challenges I'll face. I've been at the Insurance Agency for about 3 1/2 months now and I've just scratched the surface (I feel). My boss assured me that I don't have to worry and just to think of it as going through labor pains ..comforting huh! Every time we learn new things it takes much practice, exercise, patience, endurance, and well growing pains if we want to really be good at it, that is.!  It's very good how The Lord allows these physical things in life to bleed out in other areas where we can become more like Him. I am privileged and very thankful to have this job in this season of my life. God is so good to me! His rod n staff truly is a comfort! ..And His work papers and homework in this "school of life" is as well!

Christ presents you a cross and He never promises it will be easy — but He promises it will be worth it. ~Voscamp   ...sooo worth it (I added)

This morning I get this phone call, the voice sounded calm and somber "My daughter was killed this morning in an a car accident. I wanted to know what to do with my insurance, this is a valley for me". I didn't expect to get such a phone call. ..was killed this morning??  Life is so quick, so short! ..alive then gone in an instant! She was so young! The pain! Oh, help me Father to be Jesus hands, feet, tongue, ears, eyes, and heart in the office (I pray).
I told him I will pray for him and the family. I was thankful I didn't try to just sound professional (like I try to at times) and had my mind focused on the busy ways of life but that God allowed me to be ready 'in season or out' to give words of comfort on the other line. Another young women (in her 20's) was killed in a car accident last week! Life is so fleeting, were gone in an instant, like a vapor (the Bible say's)!

Lets store up treasures in Heaven where moths can't eat it, robbers can't steal it, crashes can't wreck it, death can't kill it!

He says to those who want life...

55 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

good quotes...

It’s habits that can imprison you and it’s habits that can free you and when thanks to God becomes a habit, so joy in God becomes your life. ~Voscamp

If I never cease working on the habit of good food, good exercise, good time management — why ever lessen the habit of our grateful thanks to a good God? ~Voscamp

These sayings can be true only when our hope is in Him (not ourselves) where we can have rivers of life flow out of us in all these promises of God!
